There are a few things I'd like you to remember about Rose Wilson. Rose is not, actually, as white as you keep making her look. She's half-Cambodian. Please draw her that way.
Speaking of Cambodians, please remember whose daughter Rose is. No, I don't mean Slade, who is as white as he's being drawn. I mean Lillian "Sweet Lili" Worth, the brothel madam who was a skilled enough hand-to-hand fighter to have *trained* Rose and also to impress Slade Wilson, who is no slouch himself.
Lili was also quite smart and quite vicious, and very loyal. This is, after all, the woman who terrified an international arms dealer into telling her where Rose was.
And when Lili died, Rose reacted *extraordinarily* badly.
Of course, she hadn't had much of a good time before Lili died, either. Notice the cut on her cheek in these images, please.
It came from here.
That cut, by the way, scarred. When drawing her looking like she's got Cambodian blood, also draw in the scar, artists.
So she's been tortured by the uncle she never knew she had because of the father she never met, then watched her mother die, then was informed by said father that he'd be sending her to stay with superheroes she didn't know.
Enter Rose's very early, somewhat terrifying time with the Titans.
Now, you note that Sarge Steel calls Rose a martial arts expert. Why, you ask?
Here's why.
She's fast, she's flexible, she's ruthless, she's very good.
*Slade didn't make Rose a killer*. He didn't have to. Lili sowed those seeds. Please, please, *please* remember that Rose was good long before Slade met her. He made her better, a lot better, but that's it.
But Rose wasn't with the Titans all that long. She managed to make friends and got herself in their home. She was just as violent there. Not lethal, but violent. Sweet girl, really.
Until she saw them die, too. Then she got lethal.
And then came the hail of bullets and blood spatters all over Rose's face from the corpses of the people she's just hugged.
So we have a nice, sweet, somewhat psychotic, quite traumatized, ruthless girl with balls of *titanium*.
She challenged Big freaking Barda.
Rose is a girl who's had two families slaughtered in front of her and was betrayed by the third one. This version of the Titans will be her fourth -- possibly fifth, depending on how you interpret her interaction with Roy's Titans -- try at a family. So, canon, I'd like you to keep in mind...
Rose has more issues than just Slade.
*Stop* making Rose the Angry Hot "Bad Girl" With Father Issues. Remember, please, her *mother* issues, her abandonment issues, the ways she handles depression, the fact that she was cut off from pop culture and the outside world until her mid-teens. Remember how she fights. Remember that she's lonely. Remember she was raised in a brothel. Remember she's a sweet girl, if she likes you. Remember her sense of devotion.
Remember she was loved, and she loved back.
And while you're at it, stop with Rose fighting with two katana. Those are not suitable for being used one-handed. Wakizashi, people. Or staff. Canonically, she's a staff fighter.
(P.S. So Rose was fourteen when Lili died. Just after Kid's Game, canon said Rose was conceived eighteen years ago. *How* old is she now? And how long was she with the Madisons? *Or* the Titans, for that matter.)
P.P.S. *Which* eye is she blind in?!? It's kind of an important detail, and people keep *switching back and forth*.)
